A non-profit organization in the Washington, DC, area, however, is training women for the construction trades in an effort to build self-esteem and better-paying careers.

  Need help picking a major? Figuring out what career field to pursue. These Texas Tech students discuss how StrengthsQuest helped them identify their personal strengths. The thirty-minute online test assesses and ranks the strengths of participants. It is provided by Texas Tech's University Career Services, and can be used to gauge potential career fields for students or as a job development tool for faculty and staff.   Career Fair at BC (BloomBoxTV # 1/2...
  For their first project of 2010 BloomBoxTV crew was at work during the January Career Fair sponsored by Career Services. Representatives of 29 participating organizations spoke with 155 students about opportunities to intern, work part-time or volunteer. The Director of Career Services, Carol Ruiz, is a strong believer in connecting students with REAL opportunities where they can make a contribution to the organization while gaining career related experience. In addition, these fairs give students the chance to learn first-hand about career fields and network with professionals. The array of organizations included government, business, non-profits, hospital and health care, arts and technology. The Annual Spring Fair will take place on April 13th.
