The restaurant and retail industries are among the few industries that are starting to add jobs.  In January,  food stores added 14,000 positions, clothing stores 13,000 jobs, and general merchandise retailers 10,000 jobs.   In addition to adding jobs, hospitality and retail typically have a high turnover of employers – close to 100% a year, in some cases – so there are usually jobs available at many of the top employers.   These companies hire entry level candidates and are willing to train, so it’s an opportunity to gain experience as well as a paycheck.
